Good news for anyone who likes shooting things without worrying about ranked ladders: Black Ops 7's Endgame mode is being made free-to-play for a limited time during Season 3. If you have been curious about Avalon but did not buy the full game, you will get a chance to jump in and see what the fuss is about.
What is Endgame?
Endgame is a player-versus-environment mode set in Avalon. The basic idea is simple: complete missions, raise your Operator's Combat Rating, and unlock new abilities through the Skill Track system. Progression gives you new tools and powers, but there is risk. If you or your squad fail to exfil, you lose progression. Previously that could drop you back to zero. As of Season 3, the penalty is capped at a loss of 15 Combat Rating per failed run.
How to access it while it is free
- Endgame will be available inside Warzone during the free window, so you do not need to install Black Ops 7 to try it.
- Only the Endgame mode is being added for non-owners. The single-player campaign will not be included.
- If you do not own Black Ops 7, you will start with four Operators: Mason, Anderson, 50/50, and Samuels.
- The free period begins on April 2. Exact length of the free window has not been announced.
Why this matters
This is a convenient way for players who prefer PvE or who are curious about Avalon to sample the content without buying the full game. It also ties into a broader change coming to Warzone: for the first time, battle royale map rotation will let players experience both Verdansk and Avalon in the same live service.
If you plan to try Endgame, expect mission runs to build your Combat Rating and to unlock Skill Track abilities, but remember the capped risk of losing 15 CR on failed exfils. Show up on April 2 if you want to test Avalon without committing to the full Black Ops 7 purchase.
