Pokopia’s map is bigger than it looks, offering a colorful spread of biomes you can rebuild as you follow the story beats. At launch, players discover four main areas, plus a sandbox town tucked just off Withered Wasteland. In total, there are five distinct zones you can unlock and explore as you restore the world piece by piece.
Withered Wasteland
Starting point and drought city, Withered Wasteland is where your rebuilding adventure kicks off. By tracing the story quests, you trigger a Rain Dance that brings rain back to the land. Once the rain returns, two more areas swing open their gates: Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges.
Bleak Beach
After rain unlocks the door at the end of a path near the Pokemon Center, you gain access to Bleak Beach, a Vermilion City–inspired seaside town. There you’ll gather brick-making materials and meet new Pokemon. Peakychu and Mosslax appear to help you complete the Brighten Things Up quest, nudging Bleak Beach from bleak to pleasantly breezy.
Rocky Ridges
The gate to Rocky Ridges sits in a cave northeast of Withered Wasteland. This is the same cave where Onix shows up as part of the Yawn Up a Storm quest, a required step to unlock the gate and continue your map journey.
Sparkling Skylands
Finish the trio of story quests — Yawn Up a Storm, Brighten Things Up, and Time to Party — and the gate to Sparkling Skylands will open to the north of Withered Wasteland. You’ll need to craft ladders to reach this high-altitude biome. It’s the toughest rebuild yet, but it delivers the most rare habitats and Pokemon you won’t find elsewhere.
Palette Town
Palette Town nods to Pallet Town with a playful twist. There are no major story challenges here, but you still build a Pokemon Center, and you can rename the area if you want. Special Challenges unlock in this town, and completing them yields habitat items and access to Pokemon you won’t encounter until you tackle those tasks.
Bottom line: Pokopia folds five areas into its map, each with its own quirks, quests, and rewards. Get ready to rebuild, hunt for rarities, and enjoy the journey from a drought-stricken start to a bustling, colorful world.
