Day three of First Stand brought high stakes and, for some teams, a reminder that confidence does not win games by itself. Two matches decided who moved closer to the playoffs and who would have to fight another day.

Match 1: BLG vs G2 Esports

This felt like a reunion nobody asked for. BLG, the Chinese champions, met G2 Esports, who represent the LEC. These two squads keep running into each other at international events, and the pattern continued.

Game 1 looked even at first. Bot lanes traded evenly, midlaners matched each other, and the junglers were active. Then Bin hit his power spikes. Once Bin was online, every fight tilted toward BLG. He carried like an old-school GigaBin, taking over teamfights and turning close moments into clear wins.

Game 2 was more of the same. BLG’s top and mid lane pressure shut down Caps and BrokenBlade, leaving G2 with too little room to breathe. Hans Sama tried to respond from the bot lane, but it was not enough.

Game 3 was a rough watch for anyone rooting for Europe. BLG dominated the 50/50 plays and pushed advantages without giving G2 answers. Knight on Akali became so strong that one Q removed about 60 percent of Milio’s health. With the sweep, BLG advances to the playoffs. G2 will get another shot against BFX in an elimination match.

Match 2: BFX vs Team Secret Whales

BFX put on a strong, fast performance. Their 18-year-old carry Diable continues to stand out. He plays aggressively, which is paying off in a big way. In the first game against Team Secret Whales, he secured his second pentakill of the tournament.

Across all three games, Diable, Kellin, and VicLa looked sharp. Raptor’s jungle help set up leads and kept momentum moving. On the other side, Clear had a very rough day. Even in what were otherwise straightforward wins for BFX, Clear’s mistakes stood out. That is a concern, because G2 is experienced at punishing errors and will not give easy comebacks.

With the 3-0, BFX will face G2 tomorrow for the final spot in the bracket.

What to watch next

  • BFX vs G2 for the last playoff slot.
  • Other matches on the schedule include Gen.G versus LYON in Group B, and an elimination match featuring JDG against LOUD.

Day three gave us decisive results, a standout performance from a young carry, and a reminder that small mistakes can become big problems against smart opponents. Expect a tighter series when BFX and G2 meet next.
