A quick fall from grace
Fortnite adds skins at a steady clip, because apparently there is no limit to how many outfits one battle royale can support. Most of them at least get a polite reception. The latest one to arrive, Ballerina Cappuccina, has managed something less flattering: it has become the lowest-rated skin in the game only days after launch.
The skin is based on an AI brainrot meme, which may explain why the response from players was not exactly warm applause.
On Fortnite.gg, where players can rate skins, weapons, back bling, sidekicks, and more, the backlash showed up fast. As of the time of writing, Ballerina Cappuccina holds a 6.79% popularity rating, with 980 fans liking it and 15.4k disliking it.
That puts it well below every other skin on the site’s list of the ten lowest-rated Fortnite skins. The second-worst is Derby Dominator at 9.07%, while Prank Prodigy is just behind at 9.09%. Four Harry Potter-inspired skins also sit near the bottom of the rankings.
The ten lowest-rated Fortnite skins
- Ballerina Cappuccina: 6.79%
- Derby Dominator: 9.07%
- Prank Prodigy: 9.09%
- Story Seeker: 10.04%
- Radiant Rebel: 10.25%
- Audacious Adventurer: 10.29%
- Zeke: 10.71%
- Creature Caretaker: 11.08%
- Hallway Hero: 11.09%
- Snow Opal: 12.49%
Fortnite has not stopped at one meme-fueled experiment, either. Alongside Ballerina Cappuccina, Epic also announced Tung Tung Tung Sahur, another AI Brainrot meme skin, which is expected to arrive on April 3. Once it lands, the rankings will probably get another brisk round of public judgment, because that is what the internet does best.
