Godzilla joins the grid at Suzuka
Haas will debut a Godzilla-themed livery at this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix. The American team has agreed a season-long collaboration with the studio that owns the iconic "king of monsters," and the new design will appear on the VF-26 cars at Suzuka.
Quick facts
- Theme: Godzilla-inspired livery for the VF-26.
- Debut: Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
- Additional appearance: The Godzilla design will also be applied for the United States Grand Prix in October.
- Deal: Season-long collaboration with the studio behind Godzilla.
- Team trend: Haas is the second of the eleven F1 teams to adopt a one-off look for Suzuka, following Racing Bulls.
Drivers and form
Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon will both run the Godzilla livery on their VF-26 cars. Bearman has enjoyed a solid start to the season, scoring points in all three races so far, including a fifth place in the Chinese Grand Prix. That puts him fifth in the drivers' standings with 17 points.
Esteban Ocon has not scored yet this season. On the team side, Haas sits fourth in the constructors' standings, positioned ahead of Red Bull for now.
Why it matters
One-off liveries are a way for teams to mark special moments and local events. For Haas, this collaboration ties directly to Japan and the cultural footprint of Godzilla. Fans get a fresh sight at Suzuka, and the team gets extra buzz, both on track and in the paddock.
Where to look next
If you want to see the Godzilla VF-26 again, keep an eye on the United States Grand Prix in October, when the monster motif returns for another race weekend.
