How to get the White Bear mount in Crimson Desert

If you want the White Bear as a mount, Crimson Desert does not hand it to you politely. First, you have to fight it, then skin it, then do a bit of vendor shopping, because apparently even legendary bears have paperwork.

The good news is that the unlock requirements are straightforward. As far as current information shows, the only real condition is that you need access to the Witch’s Lair vendor, which most players will already have by Chapter 3 of the main story.

Once that’s sorted, travel to the White Bear’s location in the far northwest of Pailune, south of the White Wastes Sanctuary, west of Silver Wolf Mountain, and northwest of Whisperleaf Fortress. The bear is also described as being near Darkbringer.

Finding White Bear

You are looking for a large white bear with a couple of cubs following it around. That is White Bear. The cubs are, regrettably, not decorative.

White Bear fights a lot like the clawed bears ridden by Black Bear enemies in Pailune. It has a nasty grab attack, but it is fairly easy to avoid if you dodge to the side when it charges. Defeat it, then skin it to receive:

  • White Bear Claws
  • White Bear Helm

The helm functions as a disguise against other bears, which is either practical or a deeply committed bit of bear theatre.

Unlocking the mount

After you have the loot, head to Elowen at the Witch’s Lair and do the following:

  1. Select Craft abyss gear.
  2. Cycle to the Special Items tab at the far end.
  3. Use the White Bear Claws to craft a Sigil of Solidarity for White Bear.
  4. Consume the Sigil of Solidarity from your inventory to unlock the mount.
  5. Open the mount selection menu with F1 on keyboard or down on the D-pad on controller, then choose White Bear.

What White Bear can do

White Bear is not just for travel. Like Silver Fang, it is a proper battle mount with offensive abilities, including:

  • a swipe attack
  • a multi-swipe combo

So if you were hoping for a gentle woodland commute, this is not that. It is more of a fur-covered assault platform.
