Lower Manhattan joins the battlefield

NetEase has published the patch notes for Marvel Rivals update 20260402, which goes live at 09:00 UTC on April 2, 2026. The headline addition is the long-teased Lower Manhattan map, along with several fixes, gameplay optimizations, and a couple of new store offerings for Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic. Because apparently the multiverse was not already complicated enough.

What’s new in the update

New map: Lower Manhattan

The new map drops players into a timeline mess where the Alchemax Headquarters from 2099 has crashed into Lower Manhattan. According to the game’s setup, advanced technology and mass-produced soldiers have spread through the area, transforming the surrounding blocks into a futuristic version of Nueva York.

Heroes from across the multiverse are sent into the fight to deal with the crisis, with the map framed as a battle over a city that, naturally, already had plenty going on.

Times Square premiere: Wonder Man Season 1 screening

The update also brings a limited-time Times Square event tied to Marvel Television’s Wonder Man Season 1.

Screening period: April 2, 2026, 19:00 UTC to April 16, 2026, 03:00 UTC

  • Show 1: Daily at 19:00 UTC
  • Show 2: Daily at 03:00 UTC
  • Screening format: Episodes 1 and 2 back-to-back

For players in PDT, that works out to April 2 through April 15, with showtimes at 12 PM and 8 PM daily.

NetEase also says the live broadcasts for The Disco and Clobberin’ Club will continue, but they are moving to the screen above the COMICS store so the streams can keep running.

New store items

The in-game shop is getting the following additions:

  • Invisible Woman - Riann Landau: The Debater Bundle
  • Mister Fantastic - Danum Ket: The Professor Bundle

These items are available for a limited time from April 3, 2026, 02:00 UTC to May 1, 2026, 02:00 UTC.

Also arriving:

  • ESU College - Emoji Bundle
  • Invisible Woman - Riann Landau: The Debater Costume Chroma: Pine Opposition & Royal Blue Rebuttal

These will be available starting April 3, 2026, at 02:00 UTC.

Fixes and optimizations

Hero fixes

  • Hawkeye, Clint’s Kumiho Catch: A bug was fixed where Hawkeye’s Ultimate Ability could fail to damage the afterimages created by White Fox’s Ultimate Ability. Yes, the archer is once again allowed to hit the giant fox problem.
  • Angela, Angelic Ascent: A rare issue was corrected where, if Angela’s Assassin’s Charge was interrupted the moment it was cast, the dash effect might stay visible when it should have vanished.

All-platform fixes

  • Chronal Catch-Up: Players who were still in a match during maintenance could temporarily run into trouble entering battles normally after logging back in. That problem has been fixed.
  • Deadpool’s Director’s Cut: A visual issue in Match Highlights could show Deadpool’s role incorrectly. It has been corrected, which should disappoint exactly the kind of chaos that needed to be disappointed.
  • Voice Changer optimization: The in-game voice changer has been updated to deliver a more natural, fluid, and immersive experience.

The patch notes were posted on the Marvel Rivals website.

More Marvel Rivals news

NetEase has also shared its content roadmap through the start of season 7.5, and it recently introduced Marvel Rivals Partnered Team Bundles to support esports teams with custom Deadpool skins and other cosmetics.

So yes, the game is still doing the very game thing of adding maps, outfits, tie-ins, and maintenance fixes all at once. A bold strategy, but it keeps the content pipeline moving.
