Sekiguchi’s Introducing contract in Marathon is widely considered the hardcore test of the early game. The prize for pulling it off is better access to Sekiguchi gear and the chance to push your progression with upgraded Runner Cores. Here’s a straightforward, no-nonsense path to finishing it in one go on the Outpost map.
What you’re trying to do
- Two objectives in one run Inject a Necrotic Sample found in Flight Control and then scan your Runner shell in Orientation, all within a single sprint through Outpost.
- Access note You need Season Level 15 to unlock Outpost as a selectable Marathon map, which in turn unlocks the Sekiguchi contract and the related faction perks.
- Stay on your toes The route cuts across a compact map where UESC patrols, Heat Cascades, and rival Runners can crash your run. A solid loadout with healing items is a smart bet, especially if you’re flying solo.
- Loadout tip If you’re going it alone, the Assassin shell is a popular pick for this map and contract combo.
Step by step walkthrough
- Step 1 Make your way to the Flight Control building in the northern half of Outpost and climb to the second floor to start the hunt.
- Step 2 Traverse the main southbound corridor until you spot a blue canteen on your left and a grey and yellow wall on your right, with stacked panels nearby.
- Step 3 Bypass the panel stack and enter the first door on the right into a small workshop. A magenta-lit storage unit sits to the right as you move in.
- Step 4 Open the marked storage unit and grab the Necrotic Sample. Your Runner will inject it automatically, but you’ll take a bit of damage every 20 seconds. Plan quick heals and keep moving.
- Step 5 Sprint to Orientation on Outpost's northwest side and reach the second floor of the southeastern building.
- Step 6 Pass the reception area and lockers, then find a white booth beside a window. A lime-green waypoint will guide you to the machine for the scan.
- Step 7 Stand in the booth until the scan completes and the contract progresses to the next stage.
Completing this contract not only moves you forward in the Sekiguchi arc but also unlocks access to a broader set of Runner Cores and faction mechanics as you climb Marathon’s seasonal ladder. If you’re pairing this with solo play, the Assassin shell is a dependable ally for navigating Outpost’s tight corridors and hostile zones.
