Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made it look routine again. The 2025 MVP pushed his streak of consecutive games with at least 20 points to 129 by scoring 40 points in Oklahoma City Thunder’s 113-108 win at the Orlando Magic. Shai hit 14 of 27 shots, sank 9 of 11 free throws and added 3 triples. Chet Holmgren chipped in with 20 points and 12 rebounds. On the losing side Paolo Banchero finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough.
Wembanyama leads Spurs to a big win
The San Antonio Spurs, second in the Western Conference, cruised past the Sacramento Kings 132-104. Victor Wembanyama scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. De'Aaron Fox, now a Kings icon by association, had 15. Despite Sacramento’s loss, Russell Westbrook had personal success: he passed Mark Jackson and Steve Nash to move into fifth place on the NBA all-time assists list. Only John Stockton, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd and LeBron James remain ahead of him.
Jokic dishes out 14 as Nuggets roll
Nikola Jokic recorded 14 assists in Denver’s 124-96 victory over a shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers team dealing with injuries and suspensions. Jokic’s playmaking helped the Nuggets control the game from start to finish.
Timberwolves cover for Edwards, Suns drop third straight
The Minnesota Timberwolves absorbed the absence of Anthony Edwards, who will miss about two more weeks with knee inflammation, and beat the Phoenix Suns 116-104. Julius Randle led Minnesota with 32 points, while Bones Hyland provided 22 off the bench. Devin Booker scored 34 for the Suns but made only one of seven three-point attempts, and Phoenix fell for the third game in a row.
Other notable results
- Detroit Pistons returned to the win column, defeating the Washington Wizards 130-117. Jalen Duren finished with 36 points and 12 rebounds. The Pistons did suffer a scare as Cade Cunningham had a back issue during the game.
- The New York Knicks handled the Indiana Pacers 136-110. Josh Hart exploded for a season-high 33 points, shooting 12 of 13 from the floor and hitting all 5 of his three-point attempts.
- The Miami Heat were without Bam Adebayo because of a calf problem and fell 136-106 to the Charlotte Hornets. Simone Fontecchio scored 10 for Miami in a losing effort.
- The Milwaukee Bucks dropped a 123-116 home game to the Cleveland Cavaliers as Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his 32nd game of the season with a knee issue. Without Giannis this year the Bucks are 11-21, a record that makes it hard to aim high.
The night had a bit of everything: milestone moments, expected wins, and teams trying to figure out life without their stars. Shai’s streak keeps getting attention, and players like Wembanyama and Jokic reminded everyone why they matter when the load needs sharing.
