What happened in Episode 7?
Episode 7, called The Final Countdown, split its focus between past bunker scenes and a volatile present. Here are the main beats to keep in mind before the season finale.
- Cal and Sinatra tour the bunker in the past. Cal inspects fail safes and worries out loud about fire, oxygen, and sieges. He also sings a certain 1980s song while poking around the place.
- Sinatra meets Link in the present. Their conversation gets tense. Sinatra demands a nuclear reactor at one point, but the real reveal comes when a crew member calls Link "Dylan" and Link reveals his birthday is May 16. Sinatra becomes convinced Link might be her dead son, and her behavior shifts dramatically.
- Xavier, Teri, Bean, and Gary. Xavier and Teri reunite and work to get Bean away from Gary. Xavier is ready to resort to violence, but Teri talks Gary down and convinces him to let them leave peacefully.
- Gaby and Jane face off. Jane attempts to kill Gaby. The confrontation ends with Gaby killing Jane instead.
- Doors get forced and systems fail. Jeremy and Robinson team up to force open bunker doors. Their actions contribute to a cascade of failures that put the bunker systems into meltdown, exactly the kind of problem Cal feared, and a clear setup for the finale.
With the bunker systems in trouble and new personal revelations in play, Episode 8 looks set to close out Season 2 with a lot of consequences. Tune in at the times above to see how it all lands.
