Xbox’s next big stage show has a date
Xbox has announced that its 2026 Games Showcase will stream on June 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, and 6 p.m. UK time. Because one presentation apparently is no longer enough, the showcase will be followed right away by a Gears of War E-Day Direct.
According to the announcement, the showcase will feature first looks at gameplay, updates from first-party studios, news from third-party partners, and other reveals. The Gears of War segment will go deeper on the upcoming game’s new details, gameplay, and origin story.
FanFest returns for Xbox’s 25th anniversary
This year’s event also lines up with Xbox’s 25th anniversary, which means Xbox FanFest is coming back for the showcase. The company says fans will be able to look back on the platform’s “colourful 25 years” and get a look at what comes next. A touching gesture, really, from a brand that has spent a quarter century reminding people it absolutely still matters.
If you are not planning to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed in more than 40 languages, along with American Sign Language, British Sign Language, and English Audio Descriptions. The broadcast will be available on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
More Xbox chatter is already swirling
The announcement lands just after an Xbox Partner Preview earlier this month, which brought updates on games including Stalker 2, Dispatch, Hades 2, and more. As if that were not enough to keep the rumor mill fed, there is also talk of a new Xbox Game Pass tier from Microsoft that would reportedly focus only on first-party games.
Elsewhere in Xbox-land, there is also discussion about why Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly retired the “This Is An Xbox” campaign. So, yes, there is already plenty of material for people to overanalyze before June even arrives.
