Big news for Night City fans who like cards and chaos. The official Cyberpunk 2077 trading card game, made by WeirdCo in partnership with CD Projekt Red, launched on Kickstarter and hit its funding target almost immediately.

Speedrun funding: five minutes to success

The campaign kicked off at 9 AM PT on March 17 with a modest goal of $100,000. That goal was met in five minutes. Within hours the project had topped $6 million and attracted more than 7,000 backers. The Kickstarter campaign stays open until April 17, and backers can expect cards to ship in Q3 2026.

What makes the game different

This is not just another card battler. Cyberpunk TCG uses a mechanic called Gig Dice, where traditional life totals are replaced by a stash of RPG dice ranging from D4 to D20. The main objective is simple: start your turn holding six Gig Dice.

Instead of chipping away at hit points, combat revolves around stealing dice from your opponent. That creates a fast, swingy flow during matches. As WeirdCo head of game design Richard Zapp put it, it feels like an alleyway ambush rather than a polite duel.

Cards, characters, and a multi-year plan

The first release, titled Set 1: Welcome to Night City, includes big names like V, Johnny Silverhand, Jackie Welles, Judy Álvarez, Panam Palmer, and Adam Smasher. Set 2 moves into material from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

WeirdCo already has mechanics planned out for roughly five years. With CD Projekt Red confirming there are no further Cyberpunk 2077 DLC plans for now, the trading card game arrives at a moment when players want more ways to revisit Night City.
