Black Ops 7 Season 2 Reloaded hit servers on March 10 and brought a batch of midseason fixes that are equal parts 'calm down, shotgun' and 'we actually want Ranked Play to behave now.' There are weapon tweaks, multiplayer fixes, Zombies balance changes, and Endgame reworks. Here’s the short, slightly snarky tour of the highlights.
Weapon changes (yes, the shotgun got discipline)
The SG-12 shotgun was having too much fun. It was shredding opponents at mid-range thanks to a fast fire rate and chunky damage. Treyarch stepped in and reduced the weapon’s damage, effective range, and ADS pellet spread accuracy so it no longer hands out two-shot rewards for people who aim like a distracted pigeon.
On the flip side, the XM325 got some love. When used with the Akimbo Titan Wield attachment, its damage against scorestreaks has been increased. That makes the XM325 more useful at popping ground scorestreaks like the RC-XD, Sentry Turret, and Watchdog Helo, which should please anyone tired of scorestreak spam ruining a perfectly good respawn.
Quick list
- SG-12: damage down, range down, ADS pellet spread less forgiving.
- XM325 (Akimbo Titan Wield): increased damage vs scorestreaks.
Multiplayer and Ranked Play: adult supervision added
Ranked Play got some real-world manners. A new Stay With Team option lets players at Diamond rank and below automatically party up with teammates after a match if everyone opts in. Good for people who actually want to keep momentum instead of hugging the exit button.
The vote-to-forfeit system was improved so votes can be started or joined at any point in a match. Matchmaking also got tweaked to put Iridescent and Top 250 players together more often, which should reduce the chaos of accidentally throwing a match against someone whose aim is a different gravity.
Some gameplay bugs received a reality check too:
- Vigilance now correctly grants immunity to Scrambler after respawning.
- Decoy Grenade fake footstep sounds now trigger reliably.
- Hunter Bot will properly target the Needle Drone in both manual and auto modes.
- Scorestreak fixes include tweaks for the Deadeye Drone, RC-XD, Sentry Turret, Grim Reaper, Rhino, and SAM Turret.
Zombies: new map plus balance and bug-slaying
Season 2 Reloaded adds the new Paradox Junction map and a laundry list of fixes and balance tweaks across Zombies modes. Notable updates include a big late-round nerf to the O.S.C.A.R. boss on Astra Malorum so it moves slower in higher rounds, giving teams a chance to breathe and not die immediately. Defeating that boss now can drop a sweet Mega Death Machine.
Ashes of the Damned got multiple quest and interaction fixes so you are less likely to be blocked mid-objective. Directed mode objective panels were cleaned up, Cursed mode had Relic trial fixes, and the Ultra Aether Tool now appears in the Mystery Box once players hit Tier 2 or higher.
Other Zombies niceties:
- Survival and Dead Ops Arcade received bug fixes and quality-of-life changes.
- Perk-a-Cola augments, GobbleGums, and field upgrades were fixed to stop unintended interactions and duplication exploits.
- UI, audio, and stability improvements, plus new progress bars for Pack-a-Punch camo challenges.
Endgame: Guild Strikes get organized, Exotics hit harder
The big Endgame change is a Guild Strike rework. World Events are now a proper Activity. Guild Strikes show up on the map with a new icon and can be triggered manually to spawn a Nightmare Zone, so you do not have to stumble into them by accident anymore.
Exotic weapons received a meaningful damage multiplier boost from 2.5x to 3.5x, so they pack more of a punch during those tough Endgame fights. The patch also calmed down the friendly Guild Bot so it does not get chewed by hordes, and fixed situations where the Activity widget would disappear.
Wrap-up
This midseason update is mostly balance, bug stomps, and quality-of-life fixes across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame. If you want the full technical deep dive, check the official patch notes in the game or on the publisher's site. For now, enjoy the slightly less shotgun-dominated playlist and the fewer weird bugs holding up your run.
Play smart, blame lag less, and may your loot rolls be merciful.
