HBO’s long-asked-for Harry Potter TV adaptation is coming to screens at Christmas 2026. The plan is simple: each of J.K. Rowling’s seven books becomes its own season. That means a season for Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows.
The casting leaned heavily on fresh faces. HBO auditioned more than 32,000 children to find its Harry, with executive producer Mark Mylod and the casting team reportedly watching 500 to 1,000 tapes a day during the search.
