Warzone is about to feel much quicker. With Season 3 arriving on April 2, two movement tools that players have wanted for a while are becoming part of the base experience: wall jumping and grapple hooks. Both will be active in Battle Royale and Resurgence matches, including Verdansk.
Where these came from
Wall jumping first appeared in Black Ops 7 when it launched in November 2025. That mechanic lets players push off walls to reach higher ground and chain jumps together. When Black Ops 7 content was folded into Warzone, wall jumping was not included in the main modes. Raven Software did test it in limited-time events, but the default Warzone movement stayed closer to the older Black Ops 6 pace.
What Season 3 actually adds
The Season 3 update makes both wall jumping and grapple hooks available by default. The developers summed it up by urging players to get ready to jump, dive, and grapple across Warzone. Both tools are enabled for standard Battle Royale and Resurgence matches from day one of the season.
Grapple hooks
- Where they appear: Grapple hooks have already been present in Black Ops Royale since Season 2. In Warzone Season 3 they show up as ground loot.
- How to use them: Equip a grapple hook to your Tactical slot to quickly scale tall buildings or move between rooftops.
Wall jumping
- Who gets it: Wall jumping is enabled for all players by default. No special item, perk, or unlock is required.
- How it works: From the first second you load in you can jump off most smooth surfaces to gain height or change direction mid-fight. The mechanic supports chaining multiple jumps in succession, similar to its implementation in Black Ops 7.
What this means for gameplay
Adding these options changes how players move, rotate, and approach combat. Expect more vertical plays, faster rooftop travel, and new escape routes. Encounters that used to be one-dimensional will gain extra layers because most players will now have the same mobility tools available.
Other Season 3 changes
Season 3 is not just about movement. The update also introduces a significant map rotation system for Battle Royale for the first time, which will alter which maps are active across the season. Combined with the new mobility tools, Warzone matches are likely to feel quite different very quickly.
