Starfield has jumped to the top of PlayStation pre-order charts following the announcement that it will arrive on PS5 and PS5 Pro. The developer revealed a release date and also showed off the Terran Armada DLC and the Free Lanes update, both of which will come with the PS5 version.

Premium Edition Is Winning the Pre-Order Race

Reports show that the Starfield Premium Edition, priced at $69.99, is currently the most-ordered PS5 game. Close behind are two other new releases coming later this year, the standard editions of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and IO Interactive’s 007 First Light. The standard PS5 edition of Starfield, which costs $49.99, sits at fourth place. In short, Starfield is dominating the PlayStation pre-order scene about a month before launch.

What the Premium Edition Gives You

The standard edition includes just the base game. The Premium Edition bundles extra content, including:

  • Access to paid DLCs, including the Terran Armada DLC and Shattered Space
  • 1,000 Creation Credits
  • Constellation Skin Pack
  • Digital Artbook and Original Soundtrack

So if you like having everything on day one, the Premium package is the obvious choice. If you prefer saving cash, the standard edition will do the job.

Other Bethesda Notes

Todd Howard confirmed that Bethesda games will start using the AI-driven DLSS 5 technology going forward, with Starfield being the first to adopt it. There are also claims that the planned Switch 2 port of Starfield has been delayed and may not be released at all, although that situation is still developing.
